Jan Křtitel Vaňhal was one of the most prominent figures of Viennese musical life in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The composer, who was a generation older than Mozart, influenced the symphonic works of W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven and the early works of Franz Schubert. In his late symphonies, Mozart does not deny the master of opera, and the connection between symphonic notation and the genre of opera offers a comparison of the Ballet music from Idomeneo with the legendary Prague Symphony.
